Paul was declaring the fulfillment of the scriptures!

On the road to Emmaus the risen Messiah appears to two believers. After hearing their news He declares the truth of their story through the scriptures as prophesied by the Lord’s Prophets.
“O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?”
And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

The Mathematical Odds of Jesus Fulfilling Prophecy

The following probabilities are taken from Peter Stoner in Science Speaks (Moody Press, 1963) to show that coincidence is ruled out by the science of probability.
Stoner says that by using the modern science of probability in reference to eight
prophecies, 'we find that the chance that any man might have lived down to the
present time and fulfilled all eight prophecies is 1 in 1017 ."

probability, Stoner illustrates it by supposing that:

same chance that the prophets would have had of writing these eight
prophecies and having them all come true in any one man."

I admit that I am a sinner. I know that I have broken your laws and I'm not worthy to be in your presence. Please forgive me of all my sins. I believe that You came to Earth as a man, Jesus Christ. I believe Jesus took upon Himself the sins of the whole world when He shed His precious blood, was crucified and physically died on a cruel cross at Calvary. I believe in my heart that on the third day You, God, physically raised Jesus bodily from the dead. I believe Jesus ascended to Heaven and sat down at Your right hand where He reigns as my Advocate.
I believe that You, God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit are one God. I thank Jesus for taking away my sins forever. I believe Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I believe You will send the Holy Spirit to live within me. I believe I am born again in the Spirit and will now have eternal life with You. Thank You, God, for forgiving me and giving me everlasting life.

One of the major questions I had as a
unsaved person which was like many atheist bring up is:

How can you believe in the BIBLE if the God of the Old Testament is different from NEW Testament?
​
Jesus is loving and the God of the OLD Testament was angry.
Why would God tell people like David to kill (wipe out)
groups of people.
​
This is one question I had struggled. With me it took many years to understand with this one.
God had to give me a renewing of my mind. When I started to look OUT of the box God truly changed way of
thinking as I dug in the scriptures in the Bible.
Then you can see the answer right in front of you. Lets start in
GENESIS 6:2:

Sons of God saw the daughters of man , that they were beautiful;
and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.
If you click on Sons of God you will
see from Job 1 that when God called Satan
he came with the angels that fell.
The Sons of God or angels!

The fallen angels not only had relations with woman in NOAHs day but was
destroying all God's creation in like manner.
STUDY MYTHOLOGY!

So God created the great flood for
"damage control"
to destroy all the impurity
that was caused from the fallen angels.
​
So why did God
chose Noah
to build a ark?
​

Well if you read GENESIS 6:8-10 Noah was a RIGHTEOUS man.
​
Noah's blood was pure and untainted.
To redeem man from the fall in the garden of Eden God had to set aside people to maintain a pure bloodline for Jesus to come through.
​
Even after the flood God called on His people to kill for Him because the fallen angels started to do the same thing but this time was different the giants were smaller but the results were the same.

Besides the creation of giants, the power of sin was steam rolling over God's creation all over the nations.
God pointed this out to Abraham overlooking Sodom and Gomorrah in GENESIS 18:20-33 saying that:
" The outcry against Sodom & Gomorrah was so great and their sin was so grievous that I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it."
So while God's chosen angels saved Lot and his daughters God rained down burning sulfur.

So was God vengeful or was He being a loving God?
​
God from creation call creation "GOOD"
but Satan had a different plan because of his pride and his jealousy of man.
He would destroy man by stopping God's plan for man restoration.
​
JESUS was that plan and Satan thought if he could poison the bloodlines of man that would destroy God's plan. Satan tried over and over to stop God's plan for Jesus' birth.
Even having Herod kill children 2 years and younger after the wise men told Herod of the birth of the King of the Jews.

Satan again thought he won

NOPE!

Satan even tried to personally stop Jesus by tempting him in the wilderness even by using the same lies he told Eve in the garden!

AND
Satan even possessed Judas to capture Jesus and then
Satan proclaimed victory with Jesus' death on the cross
​God had the true VICTORY that day
